The Blade In Your Back

(Roma di Luna)
The Blade in Your Back
Written by Roma di Luna, 2005.
From our debut album "The Face of My Friends"

Well I'm sittin' here pourin' these words from my head
Just burning some oil and waking' the dead
My city is sleeping and so is my love
But she'd pack up and leave if she knew what I've done

I'm guilty as sin with blood on my hands
My woman now sleeps with remains of a man
We both know I'll be there when roses turn black
But please let me remove my blade from your back

Well I'd hoped we'd grow old and I'd die in your arms
And you'd bury me somewhere away from the storm
Tell all our children that daddy was good
He loved you all dearly he did what he could

And you looking' perfect and priceless with age
Still bow to the sun at the end of the day
Go travel the world n' circle your maps
But please let me remove my blade from your back
